Mobile Diesel Mechanic

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience in working on various heavy equipment and vehicles. This role requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is operating efficiently.

Duties

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including Caterpillar engines and other heavy machinery.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including tractor-trailers, excavators, and cranes.
• Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
• Repair or replace components such as transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Fabricate parts as needed to ensure proper functionality of machinery.
• Perform tire service and brake repair on various vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle needs.

Skills

• Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment operation.
• Familiarity with automotive repair techniques and vehicle maintenance protocols.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Experience with fabrication, welding, assembly, and soldering is preferred.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely.
• Knowledge of electrical systems related to diesel engines is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills for effective customer interactions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
