Diesel Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety and performance.

Duties

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other heavy machinery.
• Conduct routine maintenance on various types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers, farm machinery, and industrial equipment.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspensions, transmissions, and HVAC systems.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
• Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues in vehicles.
• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators and cranes as needed for repairs.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding vehicle status and repair needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist with tire service, brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, alignment, and assembly tasks.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics and repair techniques for diesel engines.
• Experience working with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
• Dealership experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to lift heavy objects as required during maintenance tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
• Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous; soldering skills are a plus.

Pay: $ $31.69 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
