Great opportunity for a talented Welder to join our J&D team fabricating, welding and painting parts and components for manufacture of ventilation systems, stall systems and other J&D products!
1st Shift, 6:00am- 4:30pm Monday-Thursday!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Read work orders and blueprints to determine product or job instructions and specifications, such as materials to be used, locations of cutting and bending lines, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Set up, operate, and tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal parts.
- Load work pieces into machines.
- Assemble, align, and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.
- Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices.
- Inspect, measure, or test completed work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Determine optimal use of material to generate a minimum amount of scrap.
- Correctly mark identifying information, such as part numbers, on work piece.
- Complete daily and monthly inspections and complete checklists for verification (ex. Crane, respirators, paint boot, etc.)
- Record completion of metalworking on specified work orders.
- Meet production quotas as assigned.
- Verify that ventilation systems are working properly at all times.
- Set up, operate, and tend machines to cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, drill, straighten, or manipulate various materials.
- Verify machine has been inspected and is in operational order before using, such as completing and operation checklist and certifying that proper safety guards are in place.
- Prepare and paint products.
- Properly check, clean, and maintain paint equipment, such as filters, per safety guidelines.
- Identify needed equipment maintenance and ensure it is reported to your lead.
- Communicate with and assist other workers in work area.
- Follow good housekeeping practices.
- Assist in identifying and resolving quality problems.
- Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.
- Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
A Welding Certificate; or one to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in manufacturing is preferred.
