Position Description:
Job Summary:
This role requires a basic understanding of truck maintenance, diagnostics, and repair techniques to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet. You will assist work on various equipment, including tractor-trailers, such as changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating/changing tires as well as assisting with troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services on commercial vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
- Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
- Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
- Completing Oil Changes
- Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License - "CDL preferred" but not required
- Basic knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills
