General Description of Position: The Project Controls Engineer will perform a wide variety of administrative and project control functions with a unique focus on project closeouts and cost recovery efforts.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Reviewing specific contract requirements for scheduling and cost recovery needs
- Assist in analyzing, preparing, and validating construction schedule delays, inefficiencies, disruptions, acceleration, specification interpretations, escalations, etc.
- Providing ongoing support during claim processes in assessing or validating entitlement and quantification of damages
- Assisting in preparing a request for equitable adjustment or claim in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Negotiating with owner and other stakeholder representatives
KSA’s
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
- Functional understanding of heavy highway construction, scheduling, and scheduling tools
- Strong written, communication and critical thinking skills
- Strong training and instructional skills such as questioning, discussing, explaining, and demonstrating
- Highly professional work output
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Dependability
- Must submit to background check and pre-employment drug screening
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with TxDOT projects, relevant certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), etc.
Experience and Education: Degree in Construction or related discipline plus two (2) years of experience relevant to heavy highway construction, cost control, planning, and scheduling.
