General Description of Position: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting, verifying, and documenting the dimensional accuracy of forms, as well as the quantity and placement of reinforcement, embedded items, and overall concrete quality.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Inspection, observation, and documentation of all stressing operations to ensure that specified procedures are followed.
- Concrete testing and fabrication of representative test samples.
- Inspection of all products for conformance with shop drawings and specifications.
- Generate detailed reports identifying non-conformances and coordinate solutions with the production engineer.
- Preparation and maintenance of complete quality control records for all products.
- Coordinate production scheduling with the production engineer.
Experience and Education
A mix of education and relevant work experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and skills, including but not limited to:
- Associate’s Degree in Civil Technology, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Prior inspection or construction experience with a solid understanding of concrete fundamentals preferred.
- Strong planning, organizational, and basic math skills (geometry, algebra, trigonometry).
- Ability to prepare detailed inspection reports and document non-conformances.
- Must possess or be able to obtain ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification.
- Must possess or be able to obtain ACI Concrete Laboratory Technician Level 1 and Level 2 certifications.
- Must possess or be able to obtain PCI Level I and Level II certifications.
- Ability to apply creative and efficient inspection and quality control methods.
Preferred Qualifications: Must have a valid Driver’s License, proficient with Microsoft Office products, have strong communication skills, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
