You’ll drive a culture of zero harm, ensure regulatory compliance, and coach crews and subcontractors to plan work safely—without compromising productivity or quality. This is a field-forward role with routine travel to customer sites across New England.

Specific Duties:

  • Model safe behaviors and visible leadership at the jobsite.

  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and proactive coaching with field teams and subs.
  • Lead incident/near-miss reporting, root-cause analysis, and lessons-learned deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and relevant state/local regulations, customer requirements, and company policies.
  • Review pre-task plans, lift plans, confined space entries, LOTO, hot work permits, and utility locates.
  • Perform audits on fall protection, scaffolding, electrical safety, machine guarding, silica, and respiratory programs.
  • Maintain SDS, chemical inventories, and environmental controls (e.g., water remediation, stormwater, waste).
  • Partner with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and Facilities teams to integrate safety into planning, scheduling, and subcontractor management.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings, bid reviews, and mobilizations to scope safety controls and cost impacts.
  • Track KPIs (TRIR, DART, near-miss rates, audit scores); present trends and corrective actions.
  • Standardize best practices across divisions (general contracting, HVAC/mechanical, electrical, janitorial, landscaping/snow).
  • Deliver and document safety training (OSHA topics, hazard communication, fall protection, LOTO, respirators, silica, PITs, aerial lifts, scaffolds).
  • Keep safety manuals, JSAs/JHAs, SOPs, and emergency response plans up to date.
  • Maintain required medical clearances and fit-testing rosters (as applicable).

Position Requirements:

Required

  • Safety leadership experience in construction, industrial services, or facilities maintenance.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 (construction) and 1910 (general industry).
  • Demonstrated success conducting field audits, investigations, corrective actions, and training.
  • Proficiency with JHAs, permits, LOTO programs, fall protection, silica control, scaffolding, aerial lifts, PITs.
  • Valid driver’s license; ability to travel regionally and work at varied sites (indoors/outdoors, seasonal conditions).
  • Clear, confident communicator able to influence field teams and subcontractors.

Preferred

  • Safety Degree preferred
  • OSHA 30 (Construction); OSHA 510/500 a plus.
  • Professional credentials such as CHST, CSP, ASP, GSP, or STSC.
