Our company is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Diesel Mechanic to support projects in the Columbia/Lexington areas. The Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic will handle preventive maintenance and general repairs to fleet of construction heavy equipment.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and trucks.
- Perform routine maintenance to, including, oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups and filter replacements
- Troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools and manufacturer manuals.
- Replace or repair worn or defective parts, using hand tools, welding equipment, or power tools.
- Maintain detail records of all work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
- Ensure all equipment is safe, operational, and meets regulatory compliance.
- Respond to emergency repair calls in the field as needed.
- Operate and test repaired equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
- Experience working on diesel equipment (trucks and heavy equipment, dozers, excavators, loaders, and graders).
- Valid driver's license with clear driving record.
- Class B CDL required
