Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. The Estimator will play a key role in pre-construction planning and work closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for commercial and institutional projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analysis
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership during pre-construction phases
- Identify potential cost risks and value engineering opportunities
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical project data
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Assist in contract negotiations and bid submissions
- Ensure estimates align with company standards, project scope, and client expectations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 3–7 years of experience in commercial construction estimating preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Sage Estimating, ProEst, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
