Position Overview: We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Medical Billing Supervisor to work as a medical biller while overseeing our billing department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in medical billing processes, coding guidelines, and insurance regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of billing specialists and ensure timely and accurate billing and reimbursement processes
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of medical billing and coding staff.
- Coordinating and directing the overall functions of the billing and coding office to ensure maximization of cash flow while improving patient and customer relations
- Fully understand and provide guidance on billing procedures, coding standards, and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Oversee the billing process, including claim submission, payment posting, and reconciliation.
- Generate reports on billing activities, revenue trends, and key performance indicators.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims and appeals to insurance companies and government entities.
- Address billing discrepancies and resolve issues related to claims processing
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare industry standards.
- Conduct audits to verify accuracy and completeness of billing data and documentation.
- Implement quality assurance measures to improve billing accuracy and efficiency
- Provide training and support on billing procedures, coding updates, and software tools.
- Support continuous learning and professional development for billing staff
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to ensure financial integrity and transparency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Medical Billing Supervisor or similar role in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of medical billing procedures, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and insurance billing regulations.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, or related field.
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPB) is a plus.
