Duties
- Safely operate your personal or commercial vehicle, including box trucks, vans, or other delivery vehicles, to complete scheduled routes.
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Follow prescribed routes diligently, adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage deliveries efficiently by accurately scanning packages with mobile devices, verifying delivery details, and obtaining customer signatures when required.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during drop-offs and pickups, addressing any concerns courteously.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform basic safety checks regularly, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Ensure safe lifting practices during manual handling of packages weighing various loads, respecting weight handling guidelines in the workplace.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier with knowledge of route driving and warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deliveries efficiently while adhering to schedules.
- Excellent communication skills for customer interactions and navigation instructions via mobile devices.
