J Bar J Youth Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Education Assistant/Resident Monitor to join the Boys Ranch, a long-term residential treatment program serving youth in the Oregon Youth Authority system. The Boys Ranch classroom environment emphasizes structure, growth, and positive skill-building to support youth as they work toward treatment, academic, and personal goals.

What You’ll Do
- Support the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and tutoring students
- Supervise and engage youth in the classroom and residential facility to ensure safety, structure, and a positive environment
- Serve as a role model while reinforcing treatment expectations and program norms
- Communicate effectively with youth, teachers, and treatment staff
- Assist with assessments, documentation, and classroom organization
- Support youth preparing for GED coursework or other academic goals
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Provide additional assistance to the Academic Director and Treatment Manager as needed
- Help the Boys Ranch staff with youth supervision in the afternoons
- Communicate with youth and families in Spanish when applicable
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
(Occasional additional hours for required trainings or staff meetings)
- School instructional hours may vary based on program needs
What We’re Looking For
- Bilingual – Spanish required (additional compensation provided)
- Ability to work effectively with diverse youth populations
- Positive, cooperative, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- General knowledge of middle and high school academic content
- Ability to supervise youth in both academic and residential settings
- Commitment to learning and working within the Boys Ranch treatment model
Pay & Benefits
