Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing complex service and repair of our tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, and power equipment on-site at customer sites or rail yard using a mobile service truck.
The hourly pay range for this role is between $28.47 and $42.71 per hour. We are offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus for a limited time!

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor and trailer equipment
- Oversee recall campaigns and sign off on completion
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ABS system and specialized equipment including refrigerated units, lift gates, and frame alignment
- May onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks
- Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard
- Professionally operate assigned service truck and according to company requirements; properly attend to service truck parts inventory
- Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures
- Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate the cost of repairs
- Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment
- Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water-tight
- Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections sign-off
This is not a roadside assistance position.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs. or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs. with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
- Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines
- Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program
- Willingness to work outdoors in the elements
- Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent
- DOT certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes
- Welding certification
- Forklift certification and experience
- EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license
- Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
- Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
