Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in McLean, VA, for an Essay Consultant. The Essay Consultant will work closely with students to guide them in crafting high-quality essays for various purposes, including academic assignments, contests, and college applications. Responsibilities include assisting students in brainstorming, structuring, and revising their work to ensure clarity, coherence, and originality. The consultant will provide individualized feedback, mentor students in developing critical-thinking and writing techniques, and support their overall growth as confident writers.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Writing, Editing, and Proofreading, with an ability to ensure clarity, grammar accuracy, and style consistency.
- Experience in providing personalized guidance for Essay Writing, Creative Writing, and crafting persuasive arguments.
- Ability to teach and mentor within Content Strategy, Research, and brainstorming sessions to help students refine and strengthen their ideas.
- Proficiency in assessing students' progress and tailoring approaches to their individual development needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for building rapport with students and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Familiarity with academic standards in essays, contests, and college applications is highly desirable.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Writing, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or educational consulting is preferred.
