Duties
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Write detailed service orders and repair estimates using estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Communicate clearly with technicians regarding diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, and parts requirements
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, shocks & struts, air brakes, transmissions, and collision repairs to maximize customer value
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions including cash handling and warranty documentation
- Provide exceptional client communication by explaining repair procedures and cost estimates in an understandable manner
- Coordinate with parts departments to ensure timely availability of necessary components for repairs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive service writer or in auto service management within a dealership or repair shop environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance procedures, and repair processes
- Experience with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools is highly preferred
- Knowledge of automotive repair specialties such as transmissions, oil changes, tire service, alignment, suspension, shocks & struts, brake repair, air brake systems, and collision repair
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and customer trust
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving various vehicle types is advantageous
- Cash handling experience and familiarity with auto estimating techniques are desirable
