Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen tools
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and bulk supplies safely and efficiently
- Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness of the dishwashing area in accordance with health regulations
- Support the kitchen team by organizing supplies and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen health and safety standards
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and sinks safely
- Strong manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy items regularly
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety management protocols
- Good physical stamina for standing long hours, bending, lifting heavy objects, and working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knife skills or familiarity with food preparation processes is a plus but not mandatory
