What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Izumi Matcha?
Izumi Matcha is seeking energetic, dependable, and responsible baristas to join our team. Located in Cupertino, Izumi Matcha proudly serves the highest quality matcha that is imported directly from Uji, Japan. We believe in doing things the right way, and providing our customers with a high-quality product and great service.
We are looking for candidates who are professional, dependable, enthusiastic, and energetic. Ideal candidates will possess the following:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Passion for helping people and are excited about food and drinks (especially matcha)
- Radiate positive energy to our customers and other team members
- Good communication with clear voice
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Speed with hands working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent at multi-tasking
- Detail oriented (doesn't make many mistakes)
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and professional manner
- Help answer customer questions about our products (must gain a deep understanding of matcha and our products)
- Prepare drinks and desserts quickly while adhering to strict procedures and processes
- Follow food safety and health regulations and guidelines
- Take orders and handle transactions accurately using the Point of Sale system (only if the self-service kiosk is not working).
- Clean equipment, mop floor, taking out trash/recycling, and other sanitation duties
- Perform additional duties as requested by a supervisor or manager
