Job Title: International Shipping Associate
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented International Shipping Associate to manage the preparation, coordination, and tracking of overseas shipments. The ideal candidate is highly computer-proficient, able to work independently, and experienced with machine-to-machine (M2M) systems to support efficient logistics and communication processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and verify international shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, export declarations, and customs forms.
- Coordinate with freight carriers, customs brokers, and logistics partners to ensure timely and compliant shipments.
- Monitor and track outbound shipments, updating internal systems and communicating status to relevant teams.
- Utilize M2M platforms and connected devices to streamline tracking, inventory management, and shipment verification.
- Maintain accurate digital records of shipments, documents, and communications.
- Troubleshoot shipping issues and proactively identify solutions with minimal supervision.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, trade laws, and company policies.
- Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to schedule shipments and manage outgoing logistics.
- Perform data entry, reporting, and system updates using spreadsheets, ERPs, and other shipping software.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in international shipping, logistics, or export operations.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and shipping/ERP software.
- Experience with M2M systems, IoT-enabled logistics tools, or automated tracking technologies.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, Incoterms, and international trade compliance (preferred).
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international carriers.
- Familiarity with EDI systems, API-based integrations, or automated logistics workflows.
- Strong analytical and documentation abilities.
