About this position:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities for the next 12 to 24 months. This role involves leveraging various tools and resources to identify and pursue suitable opportunities within key federal agencies. There will be occasional travel (approximately 10-20%) required for conferences and business meetings.
Salary Ranges: Commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.
- Mid-Level (3-5 years of experience): $75,000 - $90,000 per year
- Senior-Level (6-10 years of experience): $90,000 - $110,000 per year
- Executive-Level (10 years of experience): $110,000 - $130,000 per year
On a day-to-day basis you will:
- Utilize tools such as fpds.gov, Govwin.com, usaspending.gov, GSA provided assets, and Federal agencies' forecasts to identify potential opportunities.
- Focus on identifying opportunities within the following agencies:
- Department of Defense (DoD) - DHA, DLA, DIA, NGA
- One Service (Army, Navy, Air Force, USMC, or Space Force)
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) - CBP and ICE
- Department of Justice (DOJ) - FBI and ATF
- Analyze and evaluate opportunities to ensure alignment with company capabilities and strategic goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within target agencies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and submit competitive proposals.
- Track and report on the status of opportunities and pipeline development.
Required Education/Qualifications:
- Clearance: Must be eligible for a security clearance and reside within the continental United States.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, preferably within the government contracting sector.
- Strong understanding of federal procurement processes and regulations.
- Proficiency in using tools such as fpds.gov, Govwin.com, usaspending.gov, and other relevant resources.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
