The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Construction Estimator to take full ownership of our bid process and help us pursue and win projects ranging from $500K to $25M . Reporting directly to the Director of Estimating, you'll be a key driver of our preconstruction success — leading estimates from concept through final submission, and playing a hands-on role in shaping how we grow.
What You'll Do
- Lead and manage the complete estimating process from concept through final bid submission
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and contract requirements to develop comprehensive electrical estimates
- Perform material and labor take-offs, prepare quantity surveys, and determine manpower requirements
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes and ensure proper scope coverage
- Prepare budgets, conceptual estimates, and value engineering options for various project types
- Identify risk items and develop strategies to mitigate potential cost or schedule impacts
- Work closely with project management, purchasing, and field operations during preconstruction and project handoff
- Attend job walks and client meetings as required
- Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost data
- Assist with scope reviews, bid breakdowns, bid leveling, and proposal preparation
- Participate in bid strategy meetings and client presentations as needed
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to best practice improvements within the estimating team
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field — or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 8–10 years of estimating experience in the electrical subcontracting industry
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, NEC code, and construction practices
- Proven track record estimating commercial and industrial electrical projects across a range of project sizes
- Experience with both hard-bid and design-build/design-assist project delivery methods
- Proficient in estimating and takeoff software including Accubid, EBM, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent time management with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Work Location
Hybrid — Based out of our Anaheim, CA office, with flexibility for remote work. Job walks and occasional client visits are required as part of this role.
