Machine Operator Positions begin at $20 to $21 an hour!
IWG Owl Wire, a copper wire manufacturer, at 220 South Madison St, Rome, NY is seeking qualified candidates for immediate openings for Machine Operators. These full-time positions are on 2nd (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM Monday through Friday) and 3rd (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM Sunday through Thursday) shifts.
Duties include:
· Operate in safe manner, following all operating and safety procedures, including wearing PPE.
· Perform quality checks.
· Load and unload machine.
· Perform all duties associated with operation of assigned machines and other related equipment.
· Read and follow manufacturing instructions on machine work orders.
· Operate a welder as required.
· Understand die sequence and see that the correct dies are placed in the machine.
· Required to set up machine including selection of dies, lay gears, and reels.
· Operate a forklift (training provided).
· Read work orders, and check and record wire size of finished product to make sure it meets customers’ specifications.
· Monitors machine operations and informs supervisor of non-standard conditions.
· Performs other duties as required.
· Maintain a safe, clean work area.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or prior auto, HVAC, or mechanical experience preferred.
· Strong work ethic, dependable, punctual with reliable attendance.
· Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Work with other employees as a team.
· Ability to learn and retain information.
· Must be able to work two Saturdays a month if overtime is available.
· Pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check required.
· Ability to work in the United States.
Physical characteristics:
· Moderate physical effort.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Regularly required to sit, stand and walk.
