What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Ivybrook Academy?
Ivybrook Academy is seeking a passionate and dependable Educator to join our team as a Substitute Teacher. This position offers the opportunity to be trained, become part of our classroom community, and support our students through a planned long-term leave—with the potential for continued work as a regular substitute or permanent team member.
Our day starts at 8:00am, and ends around 12:30pm.
What You’ll Do:
- Begin with a training period to learn Ivybrook’s philosophy, routines, and curriculum
- Spend time in the classroom before the leave to build relationships with students and staff
- Step into a full-time classroom role (Monday–Friday) during the leave period
- Continue as a regular substitute after the leave
- Contribute to a positive, nurturing, and collaborative learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
- A caring, creative, and professional teacher who loves working with young children
- Teaching experience required (early childhood or elementary preferred)
- Education degree preferred, or relevant coursework and classroom experience
- Reliability, flexibility, and teamwork
- Strong communication and organizational skills
