Ivy Tech Bloomington is looking for qualified and motivated anatomy and physiology part time instructors. We have flexible needs for instructors available during business hours and evenings to teach on campus. Our current course offerings are: Anatomy & Physiology I (APHY101) Anatomy & Physiology II (APHY102) Advanced Human Physiology (APHY201) We want team-oriented individuals comfortable working with an established curriculum and program. This is a great opportunity to gain experience as you will be supported with high quality curriculum and instructional materials, and already set-up laboratories overseen by faculty. We just need you to do the fun part: teaching and working with our wonderful students! Depending on your comfort and availability we can have you teach both lectures and labs, or just lab sections. Adjuncts make $46.75 per contact hour (scheduled class time). Adjuncts can teach up to 13 hours per week. When completing the application, applicants should include an unofficial copy of transcripts showing the minimum qualifications listed below. Applicants should apply soon to be considered for the upcoming Spring semester. Interviews will happen on a rolling basis until positions are filled. GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION: Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis. Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: · Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives. · Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods. · Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements. · Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular). · Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations. · Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments. This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Conducts all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views. To meet Credentialling Requirements applicants are required to have a Master’s Degree in any Life Science, or any Master’s Degree along with 18 graduate semester hours in Life Sciences. Lab only positions have a minimum Alternative Requirements: A Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science with 9 additional graduate semester hours in Life Sciences.
