Medical Assistants (MA) play an important role in supporting patient care and daily clinical operations. They help ensure patients receive timely, organized, and compassionate care while maintaining professionalism and accountability in a secure healthcare setting.

Medical Assistants at Ivy:

  • Support direct patient care in a correctional setting
  • Assist nurses and providers with clinical workflows
  • Help maintain efficient and organized clinic operations
  • Uphold standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality

What You’ll DoSupport Patient Care

  • Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
  • Obtain and document vital signs and patient information
  • Assist providers and nursing staff with clinical procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments within scope and protocol
  • Respond appropriately to patient concerns and urgent situations
  • Document patient interactions accurately and timely

Support Clinical Operations

  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments and follow-up care
  • Follow established healthcare policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Assist with intake, screenings, and patient flow

Collaborate with the Team

  • Work closely with providers, nurses, MCS, and facility staff
  • Communicate clearly regarding patient needs and concerns
  • Support coworkers and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Help maintain continuity of care and operational efficiency

Maintain Safety and Standards

  • Follow infection control and safety procedures
  • Handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Navigate a correctional environment with awareness and accountability
  • Protect patient confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries

Role Details

Job Type: Part Time or PRN

Work Location: Bannock County Jail – In Person

Shift: 8pm to 8am

Schedule: Rotating weekends and holiday schedule. PT/PRN position would probably be 1-2 nights/week on average.
