Position
Assistant Director of the center
Job Description
- Implement child care curricula and programs which meet state and federal requirements.
- Manage the work schedules and daily operations of center
- Process Child Care Food Program reports
- Process reports and applications on ELC portal
- Process MCCYN reports
- Ensure the facilities are safe and comfortable for children
- Ensure the facilities and daily operations comply with laws and DCF regulations
- Conduct child enrollment processes and maintain good student enrollment
- Purchase materials, equipment, and supplies for daily operation.
- Interview, hire, and train new staff to ensure they meet all policies and legal requirements, help teachers with their development
- Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and center policies.
- Handle emergencies and crises, if any, promptly and in a responsible manner
Requirements
- High school or Associate or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood or a related field
- Must have Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Director’s Credential, and First aid & CPR certificates
- Excellent marketing and sales performance in childcare (key requirement)
- Complete knowledge of the childcare policies, guidelines, and rules of Florida
- Strong leadership qualities, excellent communication and presentation skills
- Good time management and organizational skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Displaying a friendly and approachable behavior
- Highly reliable and dedicated
- Must have mandated fingerprinting and Level II background screening report completed
- One year of work experience implementing Reggio Emilia Approach is a plus
- 1 years of work experience as a childcare director is a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
