Overview:
We are seeking a world-class Private Chef to support a high-net-worth family in Bellevue, WA. This position is ideal for a highly experienced culinary professional with a passion for nutrition, farm-to-table cuisine, and exceptional private service. The chef must be skilled in creating diverse, flavorful, and health-conscious meals and thrive in a collaborative, high-standard household environment.
The household includes three primary principles:
• The principal
• The principal’s son
• The principal’s father
The family is supported by a team of three private chefs to ensure 24-hour culinary coverage, with each chef responsible for preparing three meals daily.
Key Responsibilities:
· Create and prepare delicious, nutritious meals tailored to the family’s preferences (including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, and organic options as staples)
· Occasionally prepare unrestricted meals for guests and special occasions
· Collaborate with the other chefs to plan weekly menus in line with the principals' tastes and dietary needs
· Provide formal and informal meal service, as well as light meals and snacks throughout the day
· Source the highest-quality organic and local ingredients through regular grocery shopping or vendor coordination
· Travel with the family on business trips and vacations, preparing meals as needed
· Maintain a spotless, well-organized kitchen and pantry
· Comply with food safety and sanitation protocols
· Flexibly adapt menus and preparations based on real-time feedback from the principals
· Maintain a calm, joyful, and service-oriented demeanor in the household
· Participate in on-site training or refreshers as needed
· Desired Culinary Expertise:
· Proficiency in a wide range of global cuisines, including but not limited to: Asian Fusion, South African, Tandoori, Lebanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Peruvian, and Mexican
· Deep understanding of nutrition, health-forward cooking techniques, and clean ingredient sourcing
· Experience working with dietary restrictions, food allergies, and ingredient sensitivities
· Passion for sustainable and organic cooking, including farm-to-table practices
Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a Private or Personal Chef in luxury residential settings
· Ability to work seamlessly as part of a culinary team with rotating shifts
· Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills
· Positive, discreet, and proactive attitude
· Culinary degree or formal training preferred but not required
· Valid food safety certification preferred
