Capital Formation – Private Credit & Alternative Investments Distribution

Ivy Asset Group is seeking an experienced capital raising professional with a track record of building investor relationships and raising institutional and wealth-channel capital across private credit and alternative investments. The ideal candidate brings trusted investor relationships, strong industry knowledge, and an entrepreneurial, collaborative mindset, ideally developed while helping an emerging or middle-market firm grow assets under management.

This individual will play a critical role in expanding Ivy Asset Group's investor base across RIAs, family offices, pensions, endowments, insurance companies, and other institutional allocators seeking differentiated exposure to private credit and specialty finance strategies.

Core Experience Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in capital raising, investor relations, business development, fundraising, or distribution within alternative investments or the broader financial services industry.
  • We also welcome candidates with 5 years in consultative, relationship-based sales (for example, medical device sales or other complex B2B sales) who bring a working knowledge of investments and a strong interest in private markets.
  • Experience raising capital for one or more of the following:
  • Private Credit
  • Direct Lending
  • Asset-Based Finance
  • Specialty Finance
  • Private Equity
  • Real Estate Credit or Equity
  • Other institutional alternative asset classes
  • Ideally, experience at a firm that grew from approximately $500 million to $5 billion in AUM, with direct involvement in that growth.
  • Alternatively, experience at a larger established manager ($10 billion AUM) where the candidate developed meaningful institutional relationships and fundraising expertise that can be leveraged in a more entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising dynamics across both institutional and private wealth distribution channels.

Investor Relationships & Distribution Channels

The successful candidate will ideally have established relationships and credibility with some of the following:

  • Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs)
  • Ultra-High-Net-Worth Investors
  • Independent Wealth Management Platforms
  • Multi-Family Offices
  • Private Banks
  • Insurance Companies
  • Corporate Pension Plans
  • Public Pension Plans
  • Endowments and Foundations
  • Boutique Institutional Consultants
  • Investment Committees and Chief Investment Officers

The ideal candidate understands how different allocator groups evaluate private market opportunities and can navigate lengthy diligence, underwriting, and investment committee processes.

Preferred Geographic Coverage

Existing relationships and market presence within the following regions are highly desirable:

  • Arizona
  • Denver, CO area
  • South Florida

Candidates with national institutional coverage and proven fundraising success across multiple regions will also be considered.

Highly Desired Background

Emerging Manager Experience

Successfully raised capital for an emerging or middle-market asset manager, rather than exclusively relying on the distribution capabilities and brand recognition of a large institutional platform.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to:

  • Build investor relationships from scratch.
  • Create opportunities without the support of a globally recognized brand.
  • Develop a market presence through credibility, persistence, and performance.
  • Navigate difficult fundraising environments.
  • Earn allocations based on investment merit, trust, and relationships.

Institutional Platform Experience

Experience at a larger, established alternative asset manager is also highly valuable, particularly if the candidate has distributed products to investors traditionally allocating to private market strategies through:

  • Private Credit Funds
  • Private Equity Funds
  • Infrastructure Funds
  • Real Estate Funds
  • Asset-Based Finance Strategies
  • Insurance-Dedicated Investment Platforms

The candidate should understand how institutional investors construct portfolios and where private credit fits within the broader allocation framework.

Professional Characteristics

The successful candidate will bring:

  • A proactive business development mindset balanced with a long-term, relationship-driven approach.
  • Strong networking and business development skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal instincts.
  • Ability to establish trust quickly with sophisticated investors.
  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction, yield generation, risk-adjusted returns, and private market investing.
  • Ability to articulate investment strategies in a compelling, thoughtful, and intellectually honest manner.
  • Excellent presentation skills with investors ranging from individual advisors to institutional investment committees.
  • Strong organizational discipline and ability to manage long and complex fundraising cycles.
  • Intellectual curiosity regarding market trends, capital flows, and investor sentiment.
  • Persistence, resilience, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Comfort working in a lean, collaborative environment where initiative is valued and results matter.

Our Commitment

Ivy Asset Group is an equal opportunity employer and values a team with a range of backgrounds and perspectives. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, including those who may not meet every qualification listed above. If your experience aligns with much of this role, we would like to hear from you.
