Job Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality behavioral therapy to children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. This position involves implementing treatment plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and providing support in various settings. The RBT will engage with clients to promote skill development, improve daily living activities, and ensure a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to enhance their independence.
- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior for ongoing assessment.
- Provide direct support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Teach new skills and reinforce positive behaviors through structured interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including care plans and medical records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop effective behavior management strategies.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in behavioral health.
Skills
- Strong understanding of behavioral therapy techniques and principles of ABA.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities or special education needs.
- Proficient in data collection methods and analysis related to behavioral interventions.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to maintain accurate medical documentation.
- Familiarity with care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
