Picking Supervisor
Location: Amherst, NY
The range for this position starts at $62,000-65,000 annually depending on experience, qualifications and location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process.

Position Purpose:
To supervise and execute the day-to-day operational flow of the Picking process ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate and timely processing of shipments and the organized utilization of Picking staff.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise, coordinate and execute all Picking activity and motivate department staff to meet customer requirements
- Monitor SAP transactions VL06O and LL01 for issues related to Picking
- Ensure that Picking team meets or exceeds any department Key Performance Indicator (KPI) given by direct manager (or designate)
- Conduct training for Picking Representatives to ensure order picking accuracy
- Develop direct reports in accordance with good management principles and within the guidelines of the Career Development Program
- Communicate with other departments to ensure product availability in the picking areas
- Complete customer orders by picking and checking material, in an accurate and efficient manner
- Picking – per the Transfer Order (T.O) or other designated means, pick product from designated storage locations
- Monitor working area to maintain an acceptable level of LEAN 5S by ensuring a clean and safe work environment, keeping workstations neat, aisles and pathways clear of debris and clutter and labeling items/areas where applicable
- Stock / replenish inventory and supplies to maintain correct and efficient levels ensuring complete customer (internal and external) fulfillment
- Willingness to work extended hours, when required Work with other employees in a team approach to achieve departmental objectives by maintaining accuracy and preventing error in customer orders
- Maintain knowledge of work functionality and Quality standards by attending training classes/sessions, as defined by manager/supervisor or delegate.
Qualifications:
- Prior supervisory training or experience in warehouse operations required
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent preferred - General knowledge and ability to work with computers required. Signing on, using passwords, opening / closing windows applications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required
- Product knowledge and SAP experience helpful, especially IMWM functions
- Proven communication/leadership skills and abilities required
- Must be eligible to operate a company vehicle under existing insurance guidelines if required to operate such vehicle
- Experience using a hand-held scanner preferred
Physical Demands:
- Ability and dexterity to work in a fast-paced standing/moving position for long periods of time required
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to wear ANSI or ASTM certified safety shoes for 8 hours per day
