HVAC Field Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking an elite, highly experienced Field HVAC Technical Supervisor to serve as the ultimate technical backbone for our service department. You will not be on a daily call schedule, instead your mission is to eliminate callbacks, elevate technician skill levels, and provide real-time field support. You will be in the field, riding along with technicians to provide hands-on training, stepping in to solve complex diagnostic dilemmas, and ensuring quality control across our entire fleet. Salary range is $75,000 - $100,000 plus bonus.

Responsibilities

• Field Support & Real-Time Troubleshooting: Act as the primary lifeline for field technicians facing complex diagnostic issues. Provide over-the-phone guidance or deploy directly to the job site to help a stalled technician solve the problem efficiently.
• Hands-On Field Training & Ride-Alongs: Conduct structured, recurring field ride-alongs with technicians of all skill levels. Evaluate their technical abilities, tool usage, safety protocols, and soft skills, providing constructive, on-the-spot coaching.
• Callback Reduction & Quality Assurance: Take ultimate ownership of the department’s callback rate. Conduct random "ghost" quality audits on recently completed service and maintenance jobs to ensure work adheres to company standards.
• Tool & Fleet Audits: Assist the Service Manager in ensuring trucks are properly stocked with essential testing equipment, safety gear, and core inventory, ensuring tools like recovery machines and vacuum pumps are properly maintained.

Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years of hands-on experience in commercial mechanical HVAC service and diagnostics. Previous experience in a lead technician, field supervisor, or trainer role is highly preferred.
• Technical Mastery: Advanced, flawless understanding of refrigeration troubleshooting, electrical schematics, airflow dynamics, commercial controls, and preventative maintenance standards.
• Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional patience, communication, and teaching skills. Ability to explain complex technical concepts cleanly to apprentices while commanding respect from seasoned journeymen.

Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
