Deposit Operations Specialist
The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of operational functions to support the department. Responsibilities include General Ledger account reconciliations, internal account reconciliations, batch letter review, report reviews and branch support. This position also provides back-up support as needed for other department members and completes all other job duties as assigned while ensuring compliance with banking regulations and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform various daily and monthly General Ledger and internal account reconciliations as assigned.
- Review and mail letters.
- Review system generated check hold reports and corresponding documentation.
- Follow up with branch staff to resolve any errors or issues with form completion.
- Review all Automatic Transfer Authorizations set up by branch staff. Review all related documentation. Follow up with branch staff to resolve any issues or errors.
- Assist with resolving all requests assigned to the department to ensure tasks are completed before assigned due dates.
Secondary Support Responsibilities
- Cross train to provide backup support for Day-2 Balancing and City Tax Payments
- Cross train to provide backup support for Retirement Plan maintenance and document review.
- Provide assistance with extensive legal research requests.
- Cross train to provide backup support for Check & ACH exception items processing and adjustments.
Compliance & Security
- Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures related to Deposit Operations.
- Is aware of and complies with CRA guidelines and policies, ethics policy, and the bank's nondiscrimination policy; complies with banking regulations
- Comply with BSA requirements relating to Suspicious Activity Reporting, Currency Transaction Reporting, OFAC and red flags
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with COCC Insight core banking systems, preferred
- Previous experience in Bank Branch processing, customer service, preferably in banking or call centers
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in computer systems and banking software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high call volumes
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of banking regulations and security practices (preferred)
