Position Summary:
The General Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities.
Job Responsibilities:

- Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss statements.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Reconciles banks accounts weekly, verifying deposits and addresses inquiries from banking institutions.
- Reconciles cash disbursement, payroll, and customer accounts, and other miscellaneous financial accounts, manage accounts receivable collections.
- Completes manufacturing variance analysis.
- Supports department and co-workers in completing all departmental responsibilities. Must be able to be cross-trained in all areas of the accounting department.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance OR associate degree with GL (general ledger) or costing experience.
- Three years of related experience in an accounting discipline for a manufacturing company preferred.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with analyzing manufacturing variance allowances.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Possess knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Holds understanding of and has ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Has basic understanding/knowledge of accounting software and ability to adapt to preferred accounting systems.
- Ability to communicate in professional tone and manner in both verbal and written means.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to analyze and compile data and complete tasks with high attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a team environment but demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with a high sense of urgency on time sensitive projects.
- Possess the ability to work outside of normal working hours and/or weekends based on business needs.
- Must be able to sit/stand at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
