Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled, personable, and enthusiastic Phlebotomist / IV Hydration Specialist to join our wellness team. Unlike a traditional hospital or diagnostic lab, our clinic provides a relaxed, boutique environment where clients come to optimize their health, recover, and feel their best.
In this role, you will be the face of our clinic responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assessing client wellness goals, performing expert venipunctures to place IV lines, administering vitamin infusions, and collecting laboratory specimens when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Experience & Consultation
- Greet clients with a warm, welcoming demeanor and guide them through health intake/consent forms.
- Review client medical histories and vital signs to identify any contraindications.
- Educate clients on available IV therapy menus, vitamin boosters, and custom hydration options.
- Clinical & Technical
- Perform successful, gentle peripheral IV cannulation and venipunctures with minimal discomfort.
- Administer customized IV drips and intramuscular (IM) vitamin injections
- Monitor clients during their infusion sessions for adverse reactions or complications (e.g., infiltration, lightheadedness).
- Safety & Clinic Operations
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique, OSHA guidelines, and HIPAA standards.
- Keep therapy stations clean, sanitized, and fully stocked between client visits.
- Track inventory of supplies (catheters, IV tubing, saline bags, vitamins) and report low stock.
- Accurately document client vitals, administered treatments, and chart notes in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification & Education:
- Active Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, CPT-1, or equivalent state/national certification).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on phlebotomy or IV placement experience (med-spa, emergency, or boutique clinic experience is a major plus).
- High proficiency with difficult veins or specialized placement techniques.
- Soft Skills:
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric focus.
- Calm, comforting bedside manner to ease anxious clients.
- Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities in a retail-wellness flow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a med-spa, wellness lounge, or mobile IV service.
- Upselling or retail wellness consultation experience (recommending boosters, packages, or memberships).
Pay: $22.53 - $27.14 per hour
