Job Overview
Local Union 1940 needs local journeyman glaziers for work in Huntsville, AL . The ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience in glazing experience and be proficient with caulking and working with various glazing materials and tools. All hires will have to pass a drug screening and FBI background check. NO EXECPATIONS.
The work will require a strong attention to detail, physical stamina for heavy lifting, and the ability to read blueprints accurately. As a Glazier, you will be responsible for installing glass in commercial settings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
The total package rate for journeymen is $41.45.
Responsibilities
- Install glass in windows, doors, and other fixtures according to specifications.
- Measure and cut glass to fit specific dimensions using appropriate tools.
- Secure glass panels using adhesives, clips, or other fastening methods.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols.
- Utilize power tools effectively for cutting and shaping materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints to ensure accurate installations.
- Qualifications
- Proven 4 years of experience in commercial glass installation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during installations.
- Proficient in caulking and using power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong skills in blueprint reading to ensure precise measurements and installations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
