The Embossing Operator is responsible to safely setup and operate embossing and slitting equipment to produce quality product in accordance with specifications, procedures and output requirements. Operator is also responsible for material handling and problem diagnosis and correction.

Compensation Information
Starting pay is $25.75/hour 2nd shift; $26.25/hour 3rd shift (includes shift premium).

Essential Duties
- Slit and emboss chemically treated rolls and stock rolls according to specifications, ensuring finished product meets quality and accuracy standards.
- Set up slitting machine with rolls of material; accurately thread film through the machine and set slitting blades to ensure conformance. Operate controls to stop, start, and regulate speed and tension of machine to ensure finished product meets quality and accuracy specifications.
- Set up embossing machine with rolls of material and accurately thread film through the machine to ensure conformance. Operate controls to stop, start, and regulate speed, temperature, and tension of machine to ensure finished product meets quality and accuracy specifications.
- Perform routine tests and inspections of products as the material is produced. Inspect and eliminate bad material as required.
- Fill out and record batch sheets with correct information. Create cover sheets with required paperwork.
- Accurately read work instructions, batch records and engineering drawings.
- Observe production schedule to ensure film is prepared ahead of time for each shift and for any work being scheduled for weekends.
- Perform routine operator level maintenance and cleaning on equipment.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area, and other general housekeeping duties.
- Strictly adhere to safety regulations, security regulations and work policies.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous machine operation experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Ideal experience includes work with converting and embossing equipment.
- Material Handling experience, including forklifts and scissor lifts
- Ability to follow instructions (both written and verbal) as well as ability to read drawings.
- Some experience using common hand tools and tape measure or ruler.
- Work with minimal supervision in manufacturing.
- Strong basic math (decimals and fractions) and measurement ability (use and read tape measures or weigh scales) required. Must be able to understand metric system (grams, kilograms, millimeters) and convert to standard.
- The physical requirements include frequent walking and standing, reaching, pushing/pulling, use of hands/arms, and lifting/carrying and pushing up to 30 lbs.; occasional twisting/turning, bending, performing overhead work, lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs., and continuous ability to visually identify product quality defects.
