Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this role plays a key part in managing carrier relationships, resolving freight issues, including freight claims, and ensuring timely and accurate product deliveries. The Logistics Specialist will interact with manufacturing facilities, customer service, shipping/receiving and transportation departments. The Logistics Specialist will interact with manufacturing facilities, customer service, shipping/receiving and transportation departments. Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to resolve shipment delays, transportation issues, or customer concerns
- Analyze and optimize logistical processes, shipping routes, and cost-efficiency
- Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, suppliers, and internal teams
- Investigate, process, and report on freight claims and damaged goods
- Coordinate logistics for trade shows
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the transportation function
- Take ownership of activities in collaboration with the business
- Drive activities with the vendor base
- Generate regular reports and insights related to freight performance and claims
- High school diploma; additional training or coursework in logistics is a plus
- 2 years of experience in transportation or logistics-related role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
- Understanding of shipping/receiving documentation and general transportation workflows
- Ability to manage projects independently and in a cross-functional team
- Associates degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business or related field
- Familiarity with import documentation, HTS classification, and import regulations
- Experience with ERP and/or Microsoft D365 ERP systems, and Logistics software platforms
