Role Description The Fiber Optic Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Bryan, TX. This role is responsible for installing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cabling for data, voice, and video communications systems. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, pulling and routing cables, performing splicing and connectorization, and using diagnostic tools to verify signal integrity and system performance. The technician will troubleshoot and repair fiber networks, document work performed, and adhere to safety standards and project specifications. Collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other field technicians is required to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of installations and maintenance services.

Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience working with cables and cabling systems, including installation and organization in various environments.
- Knowledge of fibre and optics principles, including signal transmission, attenuation, and basic network design concepts.
- Proficient troubleshooting skills for fiber optic and related cabling issues, using testing equipment such as OTDRs, light meters, and visual fault locators.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work orders, and to maintain accurate documentation of installations and repairs.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and best practices for working in construction, telecom, or data center environments.
- Previous experience as a Fiber Optic Technician or in a related telecommunications / low-voltage cabling role is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., FOA, BICSI, or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license are beneficial.
- Capacity to perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces, with a commitment to safe work practices.
