Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety while lifting or repositioning clients.
- Monitor and document vital signs as needed, reporting any changes to healthcare professionals.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Support clients with daily activities, encouraging independence while providing necessary assistance.
- Observe and report on client conditions, including any changes in behavior or health status.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding privacy and confidentiality.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and social interaction.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall quality of life.
Skills
- Strong background in caregiving with experience in home community care preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize changes in health status.
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Ability to lift clients safely while ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
