Job Title: Direct Support Professional - Community Living (DSP-CL)
Supervisor: House Manager
Department: Community Living
Part Time or Full Time, Non-Exempt
Shifts: Monday- Friday 3pm-11pm, Saturday and Sunday 4pm-11pm
Salary: starting at $20/hour
Brief Summary of the Position:
Under the direction of the House Manager, the DSP-CL will support adults with autism in their homes, with developmental, acquisition, and maintenance of skills related to independent community living.
Essential Functions:
- Provide individualized support and assistance in teaching activities of daily living including personal care, hygiene, housekeeping, meal preparation, money management, communication, travel in the community, shopping, and appropriate use of leisure time.
- Assists participants to develop and maintain a warm home environment conducive to the optimal development of the individual.
- Provides support and assistance in accessing community resources, maintaining family relationships, and developing friendships.
- Coordinate and provide safe, reliable transportation for participants to and from community activities
- Compiles data to complete a monthly review of programs for the individual to whom they are assigned. This information is reviewed monthly, in-house meetings to update the status of all aspects of the individual's PCP.
- Complete notes, data collection, graphing and other administrative duties. Maintain competence through in-service education activities, trainings, and workshops.
Required Education/Certifications/Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent. CPR/First Aid, Driver’s license and vehicle required.
Preferred Education/Certifications/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, experience with the autism population. Familiarity with Behavior Supports, ABA and RBT.
Additional Required Skills:
Microsoft Excel and Word skills, excellent communication skills, organizational skills and ability to multi-task necessary. Must be a self-starter.
*This position requires applicants to complete a background check and drug screen (arranged and paid for by Itineris, Inc.) prior to hire. DDA mandated training and required certifications provided once hired.
