Database Management Specialist

Responsibilities

Responsibilties:

• Provides highly technical expertise and support in the use of Database Management Systems (DBMS). 
• The contractor shall function as the primary Oracle Technical Advisor and will monitor, and correct as necessary, all enterprise Medical Oracle database instances to ensure STIG compliance.
• Evaluates and recommends available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.
• Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
• Develops, implements, and maintains database backup and recovery procedures for the processing environments and ensures that data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into the DBMS applications.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Five (5) years of relevant experience
• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
• Experience in DBMS system analysis and programming.
• Experience using current DBMS technologies and application design using various database management systems.
• Experience with DBMS internals.
• Must be capable of providing highly technical expertise and support in the use of DBMS.
• Must be able to evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is typically performed in an office setting.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
• Must have the ability to lift 15-25 pounds.
