What are the responsibilities and job description for the Montessori classroom assistant position at Ithaca Montessori School?
Qualifications:
High school diploma, must be open to learning about Montessori and be able to change your approaches, positive collaborator with ability to work as a true team and solve problems throughout the day. Prior work experience in a childcare setting a plus. All DHS required prosolutions course work for educators and TBI/FBI background check, CPR/AED infant, child and adult first aid, transfer a background check from a former childcare workplace, exactly what we are looking for.
Skills
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and childhood development.
- Experience working with children
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies.
- Familiarity with literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum development.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience in daycare or private school settings is preferred. Nap time expertise a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or preschool experience is a plus.
