What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Assistant floating position at Ithaca Community Childcare Center?
Summary
The Ithaca Community Childcare Center (IC3) is now hiring a full time teacher assistant. IC3 offers care for children ages 8 weeks- 10 years old. Our teacher assistants will be placed in a variety of classrooms and may be working with infants, toddlers, pre-k, or school age children in Kindergarten-5th grade. This position is scheduled Monday - Friday, 7-8 hours per day between 7:30-5:30. The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers by helping to create a caring and safe environment, engage in activities with the children and supervise groups of children. She/he must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment.
Duties
- be able to establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
- assist teachers with implementing an age appropriate classroom/learning environment
- have the ability to appropriately and productively respond to the needs of both the children and parents in the classroom
- have team-oriented problem solving skills
- abide by OCFS regulations and NAEYC standards
- be responsible, reliable, and dependable
- have clear, direct communication style (written and verbal)
Requirements
- Must clear full background check.
- Must pass health screening.
