Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Director of Operations with deep fire alarm systems expertise to lead and oversee the planning, design, installation, inspection, and maintenance of fire alarm systems across multiple facilities and project types.

This is a pivotal leadership role for a proactive operator who combines hands on technical mastery with the ability to scale teams, systems, and performance in a fast growing organization. Fire alarm expertise is the foundation of this role and will be evaluated at every stage.

The Opportunity

The Director of Operations serves as the senior operational authority for all fire alarm system activities, setting the technical and cultural standard for excellence.

Key focus areas include:

  • Fire alarm system design, integration, installation, inspection, and service
  • Code compliance across NEC, NFPA, and local jurisdictions
  • Field team leadership and operational scalability
  • Expansion of fire alarm services across commercial, municipal, and government projects
  • Client, inspector, and stakeholder relationship management

**Key Responsibilities

Fire Alarm Operations Leadership**

  • Lead the design, system integration, and installation of fire alarm systems in compliance with NEC, NFPA, and local regulations
  • Oversee construction inspections to ensure projects align with approved blueprints, schematics, and safety requirements
  • Review and interpret technical drawings including CAD files, system diagrams, and schematics for accurate deployment
  • Provide executive oversight of field service operations including troubleshooting sensors, low voltage wiring, control panels, and alarm devices
  • Supervise teams involved in fire alarm installation, fire sprinkler coordination, mechanical work, and electrical tasks
  • Conduct and oversee testing of sensors, alarms, and control panels to verify system integrity and inspection readiness
  • Ensure safe and proper use of hand tools and power tools in construction and service environments
  • Maintain detailed documentation including system configurations, schematic updates, inspection reports, and service logs
  • Serve as a senior technical resource for clients, inspectors, general contractors, and municipal stakeholders
  • Support fire alarm sales initiatives through expert consultation on system design, upgrades, and life safety solutions
  • Stay current on fire alarm technology, sensor innovations, low voltage systems, and evolving code requirements
  • Build, mentor, and lead high performing teams while reinforcing accountability, safety, and technical excellence

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive hands on experience in fire alarm systems installation, inspection, service, and code compliance
  • Proven operational leadership within the fire alarm industry
  • Deep knowledge of NEC standards, low voltage wiring, sensors, control panels, and alarm devices
  • Strong proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and CAD based layouts
  • Experience coordinating fire sprinkler systems within integrated life safety environments
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects in regulated, fast paced settings
  • Experience with public sector or municipal fire alarm projects strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industry experience strongly considered
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a strong advantage

Preferred Certifications and Licensure

  • NICET Level III or Level IV in Fire Alarm Systems
  • Texas Fire Alarm Planning Superintendent License (APS)
  • Texas Fire Alarm Technician License (FAL)
  • Experience overseeing compliance under the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau
  • NICET Inspection and Testing certifications
  • NFPA coursework or equivalent training
  • Project management training or certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
