ITG is seeking a highly motivated Fiber Manager to oversee, coordinate, and monitor fiber construction projects, including aerial, underground, and data center builds. This role combines technical expertise in fiber optic and low-voltage systems with strong leadership and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing teams, budgets, and schedules while ensuring all work complies with ITG, OSHA, and federal/state standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, and monitor technicians, contractors, and functional reports to achieve project goals.
- Inspect the quality and safety of work regularly to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company standards.
- Provide direct oversight, training, and development of crews working on fiber, data, DAS, security, and related solutions.
- Review and analyze service, maintenance, and operational reports to identify and address nonconformities.
- Develop and assign work schedules while ensuring proper utilization of resources (vehicles, equipment, inventory).
- Perform field walkouts and collaborate with engineers to provide feedback on fiber designs
- Create and review bills of materials (BOM) for planned construction
- Ensure purchasing, reporting, and invoice approvals are completed accurately and on time.
- Oversee project budgets, reviewing performance against forecasts and milestones.
- Maintain strong customer relationships, working collaboratively to deliver value-added solutions.
- Represent and promote ITG’s mission, vision, and values at all times.
- Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and provide required training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.- 3 years of leadership experience in fiber, construction, or low-voltage industries.
- 2 years of project management experience in data center, networking, fiber optic splicing operations to include construction and repair.
- Valid Driver’s License required
- DOT Health Card Required but ITG can assist with obtaining it
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and supervisory abilities with a focus on safety and quality.- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow project specifications.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint); experience with IQGEO or OCX software a plus.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail.
- Customer service mindset with the ability to build lasting relationships.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.- Extended exposure to computer screens.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to sit for extended periods (driving or computer work).
- Travel may be required.
