Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys for proposed fiber construction projects, including aerial and underground routes.
- Document existing utility infrastructure (poles, conduit, handholes, etc.) and identify potential conflicts or obstacles.
- Capture precise measurements, photographs, and GIS data to support engineering designs.
- Interpret construction prints, permitting requirements, and right-of-way regulations.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with engineering, permitting, and construction teams.
- Coordinate with local municipalities, utility companies, and property owners as needed.
- Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld during all site visits.
PERSON OVERVIEW
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
- 2 years of experience in field surveying, utility construction, or fiber deployment.
- Familiarity with fiber construction methods (aerial, underground, directional boring).
- Proficient with GPS tools, measuring equipment, and mobile data collection apps.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, maps, and utility prints.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within assigned territories and work in outdoor environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, sit

- Ability to climb and balance
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
- Ability to lift up to 75lbs
- Ability to maintain all safety expectations
- Works outdoors for extended periods.

- Operating vehicles and equipment safely
- Maintaining valid certifications and licenses as required
- Participating in mandatory safety training and meetings
