Job Description

This role is responsible for conducting field surveys to assess construction feasibility, collecting accurate site data, and helping to ensure successful fiber installations. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of utility infrastructure, fiber construction methods, and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys for proposed fiber construction projects, including aerial and underground routes.
  • Document existing utility infrastructure (poles, conduit, handholes, etc.) and identify potential conflicts or obstacles.
  • Capture precise measurements, photographs, and GIS data to support engineering designs.
  • Interpret construction prints, permitting requirements, and right-of-way regulations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with engineering, permitting, and construction teams.
  • Coordinate with local municipalities, utility companies, and property owners as needed.
  • Ensure safety and compliance standards are upheld during all site visits.

Requirements

PERSON OVERVIEW

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a related field is a plus.
  • 2 years of experience in field surveying, utility construction, or fiber deployment.
  • Familiarity with fiber construction methods (aerial, underground, directional boring).
  • Proficient with GPS tools, measuring equipment, and mobile data collection apps.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, maps, and utility prints.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel within assigned territories and work in outdoor environments.

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
  • Ability to maintain all safety expectations
  • Works outdoors for extended periods.
  • Exposed to extreme weather conditions

  • Passing required drug and alcohol screening
