Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support Utility Locators performing underground facility marking and verification
- Manage daily 811 ticket workflows, including prioritization, backlog management, and SLA adherence
- Conduct field audits and quality inspections to ensure locate accuracy and compliance
- Investigate and resolve mismarks, near-misses, and utility damage incidents
- Ensure compliance with state One-Call laws, OSHA standards, and client requirements
- Provide coaching, retraining, and performance feedback to field personnel
- Monitor and manage productivity, workload distribution, and resource allocation
- Serve as escalation point for contractors, utilities, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate documentation of audits, incidents, corrective actions, and performance data
- Partner with Operations Manager to implement process improvements and risk mitigation strategies
- Support onboarding and training of new locators and field personnel
- Promote a strong safety culture and damage prevention mindset across teams
- Locate accuracy and audit scores
- Preventable damage rate (zero-damage goal)
- Ticket completion within SLA
- Safety performance (incident-free operations)
- Productivity and ticket volume management
- Quality of documentation and audit reporting
Requirements
Education:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in utility locating, telecom, or field operations
- 1–2 years of experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred
- Strong knowledge of 811 systems, underground utilities, and locating equipment
- Experience with field audits, compliance, and performance management
- Field utility locating operations and underground infrastructure environments
- 811/One-Call regulations and compliance requirements
- Interaction with contractors, municipalities, and utility providers
- High-risk environments where accuracy directly impacts safety and service continuity
- Factors critical to success at ITG Communications for this position:

- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and travel for extended periods
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions

- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and operate company vehicle
