Overview:
The Data Disposition Program is seeking a Technical Product Owner (TPO) to provide technical governance, feasibility determination and execution oversight for enterprise systems containing personal information (PI). This role is accountable for ensuring that system level disposition, purge, anonymization are fully aligned with CCPA requirements and PG&E's Record Retention Schedules.
The TPO serves as a primary technical authority responsible for translating legal, privacy, and records retention policy into executable technical designs across complex system landscapes. The TPO must have outstanding communication skills enable them to effectively convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate seamlessly with varying teams. The ideal candidate is proactive, self-motivated, and adaptable to evolving environments, maintaining composure under pressure and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Data and Systems Lineage Experience:
- Strong understanding of data lineage concepts, retention trigger events, and records lifecycle management concepts.
- Proficiency in data lineage and metadata management tools (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation) to support record retention alignment.
- Experience translating record retention schedules, and CCPA's obligations into executable technical designs so
- Hands-on experience with SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL).
- Knowledge of ETL processes, downstream dependency mapping comma and system integration techniques used to support this position feasibility.
- Experience working with legacy, SaaS, and cloud-hosted platforms (e.g. Salesforce and vendor- managed systems) where native retention enforcement may be limited
- Ability to document complex data flows and create clear visual representations by working with different stakeholders across functional organization.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Relevant certifications / Proficiency with industry-standard data lineage and metadata management tools such as Informatica, Collibra, or Alation are a plus
- Ability to conduct Kick of sessions with Application stake holders and document the Disposition processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a technical governance authority for data disposition across legacy, SAS and cloud hosted platforms (e.g., Salesforce, and vendor-managed systems).
Own and approve feasibility determination for purge, anonymization, and Information Life Cycle Management (ILM) strategies align to records retention schedules in accordance with Information Records Governance.
Evaluate integration points to determine the impact of data removal on related systems and processes.
Collaborate with Data Stewards, Privacy, IRG, Support IT SME and Legal teams to ensure personal information data is identified and handled appropriately.
Partner with business analysts/project managers and system owners to ensure that data disposition efforts align with retention schedules and regulatory requirements.
Assist in defining technical solutions and developing transition strategies for systems entering end-of-life.
Participate in technical reviews, data mapping, and architecture discussions to inform disposition readiness.
Qualifications:
10 years of experience in enterprise data architecture and system integration, focused technical leadership roles
Proven understanding of relational database structures and entity relationships.
Experience identifying and documenting upstream/downstream data flows and dependencies.
Hands-on experience with lineage systems such as Informatica, Collibra, or similar tools.
Familiarity with system decommissioning and integration lifecycle management.
Ability to interpret data dictionaries and interface specifications.
Proven ability to lead breakthrough sessions
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive-level stakeholders.
Preferred:
Prior PG&E experience
Experience leading large-scale system and implementations
Extensive experience with lineage
Salesforce, SaaS, and vendor-managed application experience
Knowledge of data quality and support frameworks
Technical solution architecture experience, implementing Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) solutions.
