Job Overview

Highly driven Planner to play a pivotal role in aligning demand, materials, and production execution across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Materials, this role is central to maintaining operational continuity and scaling our production capabilities. You will serve as a key cross-functional partner to Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production—owning planning accuracy, anticipating constraints, and driving proactive solutions that directly impact delivery performance and inventory efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end planning, ensuring material availability aligns with production and customer demand
  • Proactively identify and resolve material shortages and schedule risks before they impact operations
  • Translate sales demand into actionable material and production plans
  • Analyze demand patterns and continuously optimize inventory levels, turns, and planning parameters
  • Partner closely with Purchasing to drive procurement strategies that balance cost, availability, and inventory health
  • Lead cross-functional communication on material status, risks, and recovery plans
  • Evaluate and process order changes, ensuring minimal disruption to production and supply commitments
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, leveraging data, automation, and system capabilities

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree or higher in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain planning environment with demonstrated ownership of outcomes
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into decisions and actions
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working within ERP systems (Epicor strongly preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (ability to analyze data, not just maintain spreadsheets)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Exposure to automation, AI tools, or system-driven process improvements
  • Background in scaling operations or supporting NPI (New Product Introduction)

Physical Demands:

  • Typical physical effort includes frequent lifting or moving of lightweight to moderately weighted materials.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods in front of a computer or when using the phone to research parts and negotiate pricing.
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, walk around, bend, reach and type on a keyboard.

  • Work Environment:

    • Work performed in both a production shop environment and an office setting.
    • May occasionally go off-site to vendor’s facilities.
    • Work is primarily performed at a single regular work station.

  • Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $70,304.00 – $90,000 a year
