Winding Machine Operator Department: Pre-Assembly
Mid-Central Electric is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Winding Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating high-speed coil winding machines used to produce copper wound coils for medium-voltage control power transformers.
Pay Range: $41,500 – $45,500 annually Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Job Responsibilities
- Review transformer winding and assembly documentation to determine proper wire size, number of turns, and core specifications
- Set up winding machines according to production requirements
- Operate winding equipment efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Manually insert insulation material between winding layers as required
- Change wire and materials as needed during production runs
- Monitor machine performance and report operational issues to supervisors promptly
- Assist in other manufacturing areas during periods of reduced production volume
Qualifications
Required
- Ability to operate machinery in a seated position for extended periods of time
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow production instructions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Previous manufacturing or production experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Frequent use of hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and temperature conditions
