Data Scientist (Hybrid in Fremont, CA)

Job Description

itD is seeking a Data Scientist to build and refine models that support forecasting, operational decision-making, and performance insights across key business areas. This role will translate complex datasets into clear recommendations that improve efficiency and guide strategic planning. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Python and statistical modeling, along with hands-on experience in machine learning and operational analytics.

This long-term W2 opportunity is hybrid in Fremont, CA.

Pay Rate: $90 to $120 per hour, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop forecasting models to support operational and business planning.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, performance indicators, and predictive insights.
• Build and validate machine learning models to strengthen data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Create clear data visualizations and summaries for leadership and stakeholder presentations.
• Maintain and refine existing analytical models based on changing business needs.

The internal responsibilities will be as follows:

• Attend regular internal practice community meetings.
• Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership.
• Complete client case studies and learning material. (Blogs, media material).
• Build out material to contribute to Digital Transformation practice.
• Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual).
• Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities.

Required qualifications and skills

• Strong proficiency with Python for data analysis and model development.
• Experience building statistical and forecasting models.
• Experience with machine learning techniques and model validation practices.
• Ability to translate analytical results into clear business recommendations.
• Experience handling large-scale datasets and structured data workflows.

Preferred qualifications and skills

• Background in operational analytics or performance optimization.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools for reporting and presentations.
• Experience working within large or enterprise environments.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
